Rotorua Government Gardens

I love the architecture of this building!

When we were there in 2006, the gardens looked like this:

Sadly, last April, most of the lovely flowerbeds had been turned to grass.

Winged creatures

I don't usually see more than one Tui at a time, so these three that were having a loud discussion were a treat.

This dock obviously doesn't get much use.

One pair of black swans was preparing to run off the other pair. It was quite a sight.

Stony River

The first time Hubby and I drove over this bridge, we had a giggle when we both said, "Gee, I wonder how that river got it's name!"

This is a one-person suspension bridge which is part of the Stony River Walkway. Unfortunately, the walkway was closed due to all the rainfall of late.

The kids are always adding to my 'collection' of shells.

A view from my walk

I see this view of Mt Taranaki every time I walk near the house and, finally, remembered to take the camera!
